On the beachfront promenade you can find the Hasan Tahsini Monument, a buste of Hoxhë Hasan Tahsini. Tahsini (April 7th 1811 – July 3rd 1881) was an Albanian astronomer, mathematician and philosopher during the Ottoman era. He was also a fighter for the Albanian rights and nowadays the boulevard is named after him (Bulevardi Hasan Tahsini).
